CHICAGO — Information Resources Inc. (IRI) revealed that it will deepen its partnership with snack and candy maker Promotion in Motion Brands Inc. (PIM), which has benefitted from point-of-sale (POS) and consumer panel data.

“For small and midsized companies, it’s imperative to understand consumer decision-making and the ever-changing CPG landscape to be able to identify pockets of growth and breakthrough opportunities,” said Dan Sadler, principal of client insights at IRI. “We are pleased that PIM Brands has experienced consistent growth and is able to anticipate and solve marketplace challenges using IRI’s technology-driven data and analytics solutions.”

PIM and other small businesses have gained strategy and insights from IRI regarding products that are in demand, where its customers are shopping and how much they are buying. IRI provides real-time data on brand performance insights, path-to-purchase decisions and more, which is especially important during times of inflation and supply chain issues.

PIM has been one of the leading companies driving growth in IRI’s and Boston Consulting Group’s Growth Leaders Study six times in the past 10 years.

“Our long-term partnership with IRI has proven invaluable in understanding our business, our shoppers and our consumers,” said Josh Shapiro, chief marketing officer at PIM Brands. “Through both point-of-sale and panel data, as well as other types of custom work, we have identified actionable insights that help drive our business.”

IRI, based in Chicago, delivers market, consumer and media exposure information and predictive analytics for small to midsized companies in the consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail and over-the-counter health care industries.

Park Ridge, N.J.-based PIM Brands makes chocolate and nonchocolate confections and other snack foods and treats, including Welch’s Fruit Snacks, Fruit Rolls and Juicefuls Fruit Snacks; Sun-Maid Chocolate Raisins; Original Gummi FunMix; Sour Jacks; and more.
