CHICAGO — The Kellogg Co. has introduced six new on-the-go snacks for convenience stores, including Cheez-It Puff’d and Pop-Tarts Eggo Frosted Maple Flavor. The company announced the new snacks at the 2021 NACS Show in Chicago, and they are now available to retailers.
“As consumers continue to be drawn to nostalgic snack brands as a source of comfort, we are excited to unveil these innovative c-store products from top-selling brands like Pringles, Cheez-It, Rice Krispies Treats and Pop-Tarts,” said Ami O’Keefe, senior commercial strategy manager at Kellogg. “We are committed to helping convenience retailers win and know that these brands will fulfill consumption occasions.”
Here are Kellogg’s snack innovations …
Cheez-It Puff’d is a fresh take on the Cheez-It, available in Double Cheese and White Cheddar. The bite-sized cracker provides a puffy crunch that transforms into a melted, cheesy bite, according to the company.
The new Pop-Tarts Eggo Frosted Maple flavor toaster pastry combines the flavors of Eggo waffle and Pop-Tart, offered in a new two-pack breakfast combination. The pastry has a waffle-like crust and a maple-flavored filling. It’s topped with white icing and a grid pattern made from yellow-string icing.
Pop-Tarts Bites Frosted Confetti Cake feature one of the top-selling flavors in grocery. The mini toaster pastry snack bites have a vanilla cake-flavored filling and a white-icing topping with colorful confetti.
The new Pringles Scorchin’ light potato crisp snack features two flavors, Sour Cream & Onion and Chili & Lime. The Sour Cream & Onion flavor balances the tang of sour cream and onion with a fiery blaze. The Chili & Lime flavor combines a chili kick with a lime taste.
Jumbo Snax Apple Jacks are an enlarged version of the original apple-cinnamon cereal. The new jumbo-size cereal provides an option for on-the-go snacking.
This new Rice Krispies Treat innovation maintains the original snack’s gooey marshmallow and Rice Krispie base, but it includes rainbow-colored, candy-coated chocolate pieces for a chocolatier taste.
Kellogg Co., Battle Creek Mich., is known for its snack brands including Pringles, Cheez-It, Rice Krispies, RxBar and more. It had about $13.6 billion in net sales in 2019.
