NEW YORK — Kind Healthy Snacks has acquired Creative Snacks Co., a family-owned manufacturer of better-for-you snacks.

This is the first acquisition for Kind, which is known for its fruit and nut bars.

Kind’s partnership with Creative Snacks—which produces almond and coconut nut clusters, trail mixes, granolas and pretzels—will allow both businesses to offer healthy and tasty snacks across more categories, according to the company.

High Point, N.C.-based Creative Snacks was founded in 2009 by Hilary and Marius Andersen.

"The Creative Snacks team has demonstrated a clear commitment to quality and a unique ability to craft snacks that are both healthy and delicious," said Daniel Lubetzky, founder and executive chairman of Kind. "We look forward to partnering with Marius and his team to make their award-winning snacks available to more people."

Though its acquisition of Creative Snacks, Kind plans to expand its share of the healthy snacking market through a broader product portfolio and multibrand approach, the company said.

“Creative Snacks has always been a family-owned business founded on something bigger than just snacks, and we believe that aligns perfectly with Daniel and Kind’s broader purpose of fostering a kinder, more empathetic world," said Marius Andersen, founder and CEO of Creative Snacks.

New York-based Kind was founded in 2004 and focuses on whole ingredients. The brand has more than 80 snack products, including Kind Fruit & Nut, Kind Nuts & Spices, Kind Healthy Grains Bars and Kind Healthy Grains Clusters.
