SALEM, Ore. — LivBar, an organic superfood nutrition and energy bar, has been named the Most Mindful Consumer Packaged Good (CPG) of 2019 by Mindful Awards, an independent platform devoted to honoring companies that are setting the foundation for the future of CPG brands.

LivBars incorporate plant-based, low-allergen superfood ingredients in a handmade baked bar that is both crunchy and chewy. They come in five flavors: Lemon Ginger Turmeric, Lemongrass Cherry Matcha, Blueberry Vanilla Kale, Coffee Maple Cacao and Raspberry Kale Maca, all of which are either vegetarian or vegan. LivBars are also free from gluten, GMOs, nuts, corn, dairy and soy. They are also USDA-certified organic.

“Being mindful of the real food ingredients we consume is a core tenant at LivBar,” said Wade Brooks, CEO of Liv Foods Inc., the manufacturer for LivBar. “Additionally, our mindfulness extends beyond just what we eat—it’s important to us that our products are sustainable and environmentally friendly. We’re one of the only consumer packaged goods companies in the U.S. that use a compostable wrapper.”

More than 2,500 CPG companies from around the globe were nominated for this year’s Mindful Awards. The winning brands have been recognized as the best in transparent, fair, natural, organic, sustainable, healthy and delicious products, the organization said.

“Since our inception we’ve built a business around honest, heartfelt values that connect with people and the planet,” said Jan Johansen, founder of LivBar. “We were organic before it was mainstream because it’s always been the right thing to do."

Salem, Ore.-based Liv Foods manufactures and sells nutrition and protein bars. The company offers bars that are organic, non-GMO, nut-free, vegan, vegetarian and kid-focused.
