Mars Wrigley Reveals New Orbit Gum Flavor

Marks the brand’s first launch since 2016

MCLEAN, Va. – Fans of minty gum, rejoice: Mars Wrigley Confectionery has launched a new flavor of Orbit Gum, Orbit Freeze Mint, which will arrive at retailers nationwide over the next few months.

This marks the first Orbit product to be launched in stores since the brand revealed its Orbit White in 2016.

Orbit Freeze Mint is currently available in Walgreens stores for one month. After that, the gum will arrive at retailers around the country in a variety of package sizes, including 1.10-ounce single packs and 3.58-ounce multipacks for suggested retail prices of $1.09 and $2.59, respectively. The mint-flavored gum has an icy-cool flavor, leaving consumers’ mouths feeling clean, the company said.

"Gum chewers have come to know Orbit as the go-to brand for that clean-mouth feeling," said Steve Johnson, vice president of gum and mints for Mars Wrigley Confectionery U.S. "Orbit Freeze Mint offers the same benefits fans know and love, with an extreme icy burst you need in the moments that count, whether it's before a big job interview, a first date or after a great meal."

In July, Mars released its C-Store Path to Purchase Insights, which suggested c-store operators focus on new products from the gum sector, in addition to others, to meet consumer demands and maximize profits.

McLean, Va.-based Mars Inc. is a global manufacturer with more than $35 billion in sales. Along with Orbit, its brands include Snickers, M&M’s, Dove, Milky Way, Twix, Doublemint and Skittles.
