These New Flavors Put the 'Pop' in Pop-Tarts

Toaster pastry brand goes to the beverage cooler for inspiration

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Pop-Tarts has popped out two new soda-inspired flavors. Kellogg's Pop Tarts A&W Root Beer Orange Crush

The toaster pastry brand is introducing its first varieties mashed up with A&W Root Beer and Crush Orange soda flavors.

"We're always trying to surprise our fans with flavors they'll love," said Angela Gusse, director of marketing for Pop-Tarts. "Pop-Tarts and soda pop is a fun, new flavor combination—the Frosted A&W Root Beer and Frosted Crush Orange varieties are so different from our fruity and dessert-type tarts, and this is our first beverage-inspired flavor."

Available at many retailers nationwide in May 2016, new Pop-Tarts Frosted A&W Root Beer offers root beer-flavored filling wrapped inside a golden crust, topped with sweet white frosting and brown, red and orange "crunchlets."
