MINNEAPOLIS — General Mills is introducing a new take on breakfast and snacking: miniature cereal. The brand is miniaturizing its classic cereal flavors, including Trix, Reese’s Puffs and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
“Sometimes the best new innovation is the smallest one,” said Mindy Murray, senior marketing communications manager at General Mills. “There's such a love right now for full-size things that have been shrunk into mini versions, and we realized we could do the same with our cereals.”
The new cereals will have the same flavors as the originals but are in the form of small, round shapes. There are more “big surprises in tiny forms” coming soon, according to Minneapolis-based General Mills.
Minis will be available at retailers nationwide this fall for a suggested retail price of $3.99 in full-sized boxes.
Minneapolis-based General Mills Convenience & Foodservice serves the convenience, foodservice and bakery industries by providing products from trusted brands. Its brand portfolio includes Big G Cereals, Yoplait, Nature Valley, Gold Medal, Pillsbury, Chex Mix, Bugles, Gardetto’s and Annie’s.
