Wenzel's Farm Buys Nick's Sticks

Manufacturer of small-batch meat snacks acquires compatible snack brand

MARSHFIELD, Wis. --Wenzel's Farm, manufacturer of small-batch, handcrafted and naturally smoked meat snacks has acquired the Nick's Sticks snack brand. Both convenience-store friendly brands produce different varieties of meat sticks, ideal for point-of-purchase merchandising or in the snack aisle.

"It is an honor to see Nick's Sticks under the care of such a great family brand," said Nick Wallace, founder of Nick's Sticks, Keystone, Iowa. "The passion they have for producing quality products is apparent, and this will allow Nick's premium grass-fed and free-range products to reach a wider audience."

Nick's Sticks produces meat snacks with only grass-fed beef and free-range turkey. This acquisition plays into recent clean-food and better-for-you trends, as Nick's Sticks contain no nitrates, MSG, hormones, sugar or red dye, according to the company.

"We are pleased to have Nick's Sticks as part of the Wenzel family," said Mark Vieth, president of Wenzel's Farm, Marshfield, Wis. "Their specialty products are a great addition to our growing product line, and we look forward to the benefits our customers will achieve by bringing these two brands together."
