
Mukilteo, Washington-based S&S Petroleum has launched a new loyalty and customer engagement platform, My Royal Rewards, powered by Liquid Barcodes.
The loyalty platform company for convenience retailers said the new mobile app is available for download on iOS and Android and offers personalized rewards, interactive games, club cards and a store locator.
S&S Petroleum stores are deploying the app to customers and expect all 110 stores to be online by end of fourth-quarter 2025, Liquid Barcodes said in a statement.
Reward program users can earn rewards (coins) on in-store -purchases ($1 equals 1 coin). It also features exclusive discount offers for drinks, snacks and tobacco products.
“A unique feature of the app is the integration of tobacco product discount offers after users complete a thorough age verification process,” Liquid Barcodes said.
Users input their full personal contact information and age and complete a series of historical personal data questions.
Once age verified, Liquid Barcodes said loyalty members will receive tobacco offers via tobacco company Altria's program, which it said is designed to “enhance customer engagement and drive loyalty by providing a more personalized experience.”
Retailers can use their own loyalty programs or technology provided by Altria's partners, Liquid Barcodes said.

With My Royal Rewards, S&S Petroleum is offering an “advanced, digital-first loyalty experience that drives visits, increases spend, and delivers real value to customers every day,” Saurabh Swarup, general manager of North America at Liquid Barcodes, said.

Liquid Barcodes, with U.S. headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, allows retailers to create digital loyalty programs to manage their customer relationships.
S&S Petroleum started with one California gas station in 1998 and has expanded to over 100 owned-and-operated convenience stores and fuel stations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and California. It does business as an ampm franchisee and operates unbranded stores. It also operates in partnership with branded fuel marketers Mobil, Arco and Shell.
