7-Eleven Canada Signs Deal With DataWave

Multi-year agreement includes gift cards, photofinishing, mp3 downloads, WiFi

DALLAS -- 7-Eleven Canada Inc. has re-signed a multi-year agreement for DataWave Systems Inc., a provider of prepaid and stored-value delivery systems, to be the exclusive supplier of Point-of-Sale Activation (POSA) technology to the retailer.

Wayne, N.J.-based DataWave's relationship with 7-Eleven spans more than a decade, dating back to 1995 when DataWave started supplying traditional long-distance prepaid phone cards to 7-Eleven. In 2002, DataWave delivered its POSA terminals to all of the nearly 500 7-Eleven locations in Canada.

The terminals enabled stores to sell phone cards and prepaid cellular PINs from all of Canada's national carriers. The electronic delivery and activation of these products eliminated inventory costs, shrinkage and ordering/stocking time for each store.

The suite of DataWave products now available through 7-Eleven includes gift cards, photofinishing, mp3 downloads and WiFi, with more new products arriving regularly, said the company.
