AAFES Awards Fuel Management Contract to FuelQuest

Multi-year agreement provides outsourced management of retail fuel operations
HOUSTON -- The Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) has announced a multi-year contract with FuelQuest Inc., a leading on-demand software and services company for the global downstream energy industry. Under the new agreement, FuelQuest's Fuel Center, the company's outsourced fuel management service, will source, monitor, replenish and reconcile retail motor fuel for AAFES' service locations in North America."FuelQuest is very pleased to partner with AAFES and contribute to delivering competitively low prices to their patrons during these trying economic times," said Matt [image-nocss] Tormollen, president and CEO of FuelQuest. "This multi-year collaboration is validation of both the value Fuel Center brings its customers and the strength of FuelQuest's Fuel Management System (FMS) as a technology differentiator for the outsourced service offering."

Fuel Center reduces fuel related expenditures and ensures security of fuel supply for retail and fleet customers leveraging their team of fuel industry experts and the FMS solution. Fuel Center is supplier-independent and acts as a customer advocate by contracting fuel at the lowest possible cost while ensuring the correct price is paid for both the fuel and its associated delivery costs.

Houston-based FuelQuest provides on-demand supply chain management, tax automation, and compliance solutions for suppliers, distributors, buyers, and traders of petroleum products and other energy commodities. FuelQuest's solutions deliver operational and financial value to more than 750 customers. These customers include leading global oil companies, international retailers, shippers and government entities. FuelQuest's fuel management solutions help customers manage the complexity, regulation and market volatility for more than 15 billion gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel annually. Its Zytax solutions ensure compliance and accuracy for tens of billions of dollars of energy-related excise taxes per year.

The AAFES is a joint command of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and is directed by a board responsible to the Secretaries of the Army and the Air Force through the Service Chiefs of Staff. AAFES has the dual mission of providing authorized patrons with articles of merchandise and services and of generating nonappropriated fund earnings as a supplemental source of funding for military morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) programs.
