Anderson Oil Chooses PDI for Efficient Data Analysis

Software includes time-saving lottery tool

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Anderson Oil Co. has tapped PDI for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. Anderson Oil’s wholesale and retail operations in South Carolina will use PDI’s retail, wholesale petroleum, workforce and fuel tax reporting solutions.

Included in the ERP solutions is PDI Lottery, which uses proprietary barcode scanning technology designed to reduce time needed to receive, count, audit and review scratch-off lottery ticket inventory. Convenience-store employees scan the barcode on each ticket, which provides information needed to track the lottery inventory in more detail than traditional item inventory, including game, book and ticket number.

“The industry experiences ebbs and flows, and since we’re not a big guy with large operations, we can’t afford inefficiency,” said Brittany Kalivas, vice president of Anderson Oil. “Our previous software required a lot of manual work to extract and analyze data, which was very time-consuming. PDI was the solution. In addition to cutting-edge technology and excellent customer service, it offers a more complete, efficient data-management system that helps us make educated, quantitative business decisions that allow us to stay competitive and thrive in this industry.”

Established nearly 40 years ago, Florence, S.C.-based Anderson Oil owns more than 20 retail locations and more than 30 branded sites in South Carolina.

“Whether you’re a retailer or wholesaler, data is an increasingly important component of success in the market’s competitive landscape,” said Drew Mize, senior vice president of global ERP solutions for PDI.

With its international headquarters in Alpharetta, Ga., and its U.S. headquarters in Temple, Texas, PDI works with c-store retailers and petroleum wholesale marketers worldwide with enterprise management software.
