bp opened its largest U.S. bp pulse electric vehicle (EV) charging hub, located within two miles of Los Angeles International (LAX) Airport on Tuesday. bp pulse is bp’s EV charging business. It provides charging at locations including convenience stores, travel centers and other high-traffic areas.

The site, located at 9150 Aviation Blvd., Inglewood, California, features 48 ultrafast EV charging bays and is open to the public. Amenities on-site include a lounge, vending machines, restrooms and free Wi-Fi.

The charging hub is partially funded by a $2 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) and is designed to meet the needs of ride-hail drivers, local EV drivers and rental car customers, the company said.

“Our new hub near LAX is another example of how we’re bringing fast, reliable charging to our customers when and where they need it, alongside convenient amenities," said Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas. "We’re committed to expanding our charging network to more metro and airport locations like this one to support EV drivers and ride-hailing fleets in a simple, reliable, and cost-effective way."

The new hub supports bp’s broader EV infrastructure plans, which include a nationwide rollout of charging centers near airports and high-traffic areas. The project is part of a previously announced collaboration between bp pulse and Hertz, aimed at expanding access to charging for both rental and personal EV users.

In June, bp pulse added a charging hub near San Francisco International Airport. In April, bp pulse opened a charging hub near Boston Logan Airport, its first in Massachusetts.

Other bp pulse collaborations include hubs at Simon Properties sites, hubs at Laz parking sites and chargers at 50 Waffle House restaurants in Texas, Georgia, Florida and other locations in the South and Southeast. Additionally, bp pulse continues to install EV charging across sites in bp’s footprint of more than 8,000 retail locations, including TravelCenters of America, Thorntons and Amoco.
