Carolina Petroleum Selects TelaPoint's Web Supply Chain Solution

Implements TelaFuel to manage fuel marketing, replenishment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Petroleum Distributors Inc. has implemented Louisville, Ky.-based TelaPoint Inc.'s TelaFuel Internet software solution to streamline and manage its fuel marketing and transportation scheduling processes.

The retailer and wholesaler is using TelaFuel, a browser-based application suite, to improve management of fuel replenishment operations serving all of its high-volume Petro Express retail sites and more than 2,000 wholesale delivery locations throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.[image-nocss]

With TelaFuel, Carolina Petroleum is electronically processing customer fuel orders and optimizing transportation scheduling, resulting in lower costs, enhanced customer service, improved fleet utilization and greater administrative efficiency, the tech firm said.

"Our decision to implement TelaPoint's Internet supply chain solution is a key component of our ongoing strategy to optimize efficiencies across our retail and wholesale petroleum marketing operation to better serve our customers," said Alan Erquitt, Carolina Petroleum Distributors general manager. "TelaFuel is helping us to significantly reduce the manual labor and paper needed to operate our business."

TelaFuel is an Internet supply chain software solution that includes Smart Replenishment, Smart Buying and Smart Invoicing. It helps companies realize fewer communication errors with transportation partners, lower fuel inventory and replenishment costs, make better fuel purchasing and pricing decisions, and streamline fuel invoice reconciliation, said the firm.

All TelaPoint customers have secure access through browser-based software applications allowing for timely and accurate communication with their authorized trading partners. TelaPoint's Internet services extend and redefine interaction and collaboration between trading partners in the convenience store and petroleum supply chains.

Carolina Petroleum Distributors, headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., owns and operates more than 60 high-volume retail c-stores under the Petro Express brand in North Carolina and South Carolina.
