Casey’s is leveraging IntelAgree, an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform, to manage its contracts.

  • Casey’s is No. on CSP’s 2025 Top 40 Update to the 2024 Top 202 ranking of U.S. c-store chains by store count. Watch for the full 2025 Top 202 ranking in the June issue of CSP magazine and in CSP Daily News.

Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey's will leverage the full capabilities of Tampa, Florida-based IntelAgree, including Saige Assist, its generative AI assistant, to streamline and scale contract operations across the organization.

With IntelAgree, Casey’s aims to use AI to stay ahead of risk, streamline workflows and drive smarter decisions, the company said.

“At Casey's, we're always looking for ways to operate smarter and serve our communities better,” said Katrina Lindsey, chief legal officer at Casey's. “IntelAgree gives our teams the tools to work faster, reduce risk and focus on what really matters—delivering value to our guests and team members. We're excited to work alongside a company that shares our commitment to meaningful, everyday impact.”

The technology will help Casey’s with the following.

  • Centralized contract repository
  • Automating approvals
  • Real-time dashboards
  • Vendor agreements
  • Internal operations
  • Strategic initiatives

“Casey's purpose is rooted in care: to make life better for communities and guests every day,” said David Hull, CEO of IntelAgree. “That kind of commitment resonates with us. At IntelAgree, we're focused on streamlining contract management so teams can spend more time on impactful work. When our partners' values align, good things happen.”

Casey’s also deployed customer-facing AI on its website in March. “Darn-ell,” the c-store chain’s AI-powered “roast bot” promotes its Darn Good Coffee at www.darngoodroast.com.

Using generative AI capabilities, Darn-ell, a “coffee connoisseur and darn good roaster,” offers personalized, witty comments or “roasts” along with coffee recommendations to help customers learn about Casey’s Darn Good Coffee lineup, available hot, iced and in varied caffeine levels.

Casey’s, based in Ankeny, Iowa, operates more than 2,900 c-stores in the greater Midwest under the Casey’s and GoodStop brands and in Texas under the Lone Star Food Stores and CEFCO brands. The company is the third-largest convenience-store retailer, the fourth-largest holder of liquor licenses and the fifth-largest pizza chain in the United States.
