Dresser Wayne, Datawire Deal

Wayne Nucleus POS offers broadband payment service

AUSTIN, Texas -- Dresser Wayne and Datawire Communication Networks Inc. have joined forces to offer Internet-based payment card processing services on the Wayne Nucleus POS system.

This new service allows card-based payment transactions to be processed in three to five seconds, the companies said, which is less than a typical dialup connection. IP processing costs less than satellite services and eliminates the need for multiple phone lines by using one Internet connection, they added.

The Wayne Nucleus POS system is operating [image-nocss] in the retail fuel market with the Datawire solution. The Datawire VXN Network is a secure network for moving transactions over the Internet. The Datawire VXN Micronode can be added to Nucleus POS systems using plug and play connectivity without the need for additional hardware. Also, customers can make their purchases faster with a shorter transaction time so retailers can handle more customers, increasing sales opportunities, said the companies.

Dresser Wayne and Datawire have received certification to run transactions on both Alliance and Concord payment processing services.
