Freestylin' at Rutter's

50 customers receive $100 gift certificates; one drives away new Ford

YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Farm Stores customer Michael Conley of Red Lion, Pa., won a 2005 Ford Freestyle Limited when he picked the key that started the vehicle. He was one of 50 customers invited to the grand-prize celebration for Rutter's Freestylin' Summer promotion, said the company.

From May 30 to August 21, Rutter's offered weekly specials. With every purchase of the specials, customers received an entry blank. The more specials they purchased, the more chances they had to win. No purchase was necessary to enter.

Rutter's drew [image-nocss] the name of one customer from each of its 50 convenience stores. Each won a $100 Rutter's gift certificate and an invitation to the grand-prize event, which was held under a tent at the Rutter's in Manchester Township.

Some 45 of the 50 customers registered to participate on September 13; 28 of them turned keys that did not work before Conley got his chance.

Family-owned and third generation-managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 50 c-stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties.
