FuelQuest Announces FMS 3.5

New features include IVR capabilities, enhancements to sourcing best-buy module

HOUSTON -- With FMS (Fuel Management System) release 3.5, FuelQuest is issuing its second FMS upgrade in as many months. These last two FMS releases continue FuelQuest's commitment to deliver an easy-to-use, comprehensive fuel supply chain management solution.

Release 3.5 highlights include extensions to best-buy strategic souring solution and new voice response unit (VRU) capabilities.

According to FuelQuest Chief Technology Officer Kirt Scott, This enhancement leverages the technical advances in FuelQuest's web-based technology, [image-nocss] while still providing the best-in-class strategic sourcing. In addition to the ability to rank supply/sourcing location options based on lowest combined freight and product cost, you can now consider multiple supplier options for each product on multiple product loads improving sourcing effectiveness on split loads of gas, diesel or blended ethanol.

Ken Evans, FuelQuest's vice president of marketing, said, The market was telling us we could better serve them by providing VRU capabilities that enable remote personnel to directly enter data into the system vs. them relaying this through a dispatcherwhen the market talks, we listen.

FMS' new VRU (also known as IVR or interactive voice response) functionality enables remote sites to call in their inventory and sales data for forecasted replenishment via touch tone phones. Additionally, customers now have another convenient way to enter fuel orders into FMS.

This additional direct method of information input frees up valuable time for our clients' dispatchers and improves data accuracy resulting in better optimized inventories with reduced retains and run outs, said Evans.

Houston-based FuelQuest provides web-based supply chain management and tax automation technologies for suppliers, distributors and buyers of motor fuels and lubricants. Focus areas include strategic sourcing, logistics optimization, remote tank monitoring, fuel transaction reconciliation, environmental compliance and fuel excise tax compliance.
