Consumer fuel savings app GasBuddy has launched a fuel card, Pay with GasBuddy+, offering cardholders up to 33 cents per gallon (CPG) off fuel purchases. The new card extends the reach of the Pay with GasBuddy program into the convenience store, the company said, providing additional savings where Mastercard is accepted.
Cardholders who have opted into Auto Pay can save 3 CPG on every fillup and 5 CPG at select stations; up to 30 CPG with an activated Deal Alert; and 3 CPG for every $25 spent on nonfuel purchases inside convenience stores. They have the opportunity to save up to 50 CPG with an activated Deal Alert with Pay with GasBuddy+ Premium.
“The Pay with GasBuddy+ card [is] a strategic bridge connecting consumer convenience with unprecedented value for both GasBuddy users and brand partners,” said Todd Gulbransen, senior vice president and general manager of consumer programs at PDI Technologies, Alpharetta, Georgia, which owns GasBuddy. “By seamlessly integrating personalized offers, real-time spending insights and exclusive partner benefits, we’re transforming how people interact with their savings tools at the fuel and convenience locations they choose.”
The Pay with GasBuddy+ card is powered by Corpay, a corporate payments company. The Atlanta-based company’s services include issuing fuel cards to customers and providing advanced technology to facilitate, monitor and control transactions made at retailers.
The Pay with GasBuddy+ card is issued by Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati, license by Mastercard International, Purchase, New York.
Fuel savings platform GasBuddy facilitates savings to its users through providing real-time gas price information at more than 150,000 gas stations, offering cash back rewards on purchases with brand partners, and through the Pay with GasBuddy payments card. Acquired by Alpharetta, Georgia-based PDI Technologies in 2021, Dallas-based GasBuddy’s publishing and software businesses enable fuel, convenience-store, quick-service restaurant (QSR) and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies to connect the fueling public with their brands.
PDI recently launched a retail media network (RMN) within the GasBuddy app in partnership with Swiftly, a retail technology company based in Seattle, to help convenience stores deliver personalized offers.
