WELLESLEY HILLS, Mass. -- Gulf Oil announced the launch of Gulf Pay, a mobile payment application, that will allow customers to pay for fuel at the pump, purchase products in the convenience store and find Gulf Oil stations near them. The app will provide exclusive offers for fuel and in-store products at participating locations, and customers will have the option to customize in-app preferences.
The payment solution will launch in the first half of 2017 in select New England and New York markets. Gulf Oil plans to expand the app’s availability to additional markets in 2018.
The system is powered by P97’s PetroZone mobile commerce platform, and Gulf Oil has partnered with MasterCard to accept MasterPass, MasterCard’s mobile payment system, through the app. Gulf Oil plans to expand its partnerships to other leading mobile wallets and payment technologies.
