Haffner’s, an Energy North convenience-store chain of nearly 70 stores, has selected Liquid Barcodes to develop a next-generation mobile application and loyalty program.

With convenience stores, fueling stations and car wash sites across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, Haffner’s is taking a “major step” forward in creating a fully integrated digital ecosystem that connects all its businesses under one unified Haffner’s banner, Liquid Barcodes said in a statement Monday.

“Our goal is to deliver one seamless digital experience that unites every part of the Haffner’s brand—from fueling and in-store purchases to car wash memberships and our home heating oil and propane services,” said Janet Ries, chief brand officer at Haffner’s. “Partnering with Liquid Barcodes allows us to bring all of our offerings under one connected platform, simplify our technology stack, remove friction and deliver more value to our customers through a unified, data-driven experience.”

The new mobile app will combine loyalty, rewards, gamification and subscriptions into one solution, Liquid Barcodes said. Haffner’s expects the mobile app and loyalty program to launch early in 2026.

Liquid Barcodes, with U.S. headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, allows retailers to create digital loyalty programs to manage its customer relationships.

“Our goal is to help forward-thinking retailers like Haffner’s stay ahead of the curve while maintaining full data control and operational simplicity,” Saurabh Swarup, general manager of North America at Liquid Barcodes, said.
