Jiffy Trip/Jack's Adds PeopleMatter Platform

28-store Oklahoma convenience chain "techs up" HR

ENID, Okla. --  Jiffy Trip/Jack's, a Hammer-Williams Co. convenience store chain, recently embraced technology for its human resources management by converting its paper-based HR processes to PeopleMatter's comprehensive online platform.

With PeopleMatter LEARN, the chain's more than 300 sales associates will access online social tools to extend their development as team members. Managers of Jiffy Trip/Jack's 28 Oklahoma-based stores will use PeopleMatter HIRE to formalize the company's HR practices while quickly identifying, tracking and hiring candidates who are a good cultural fit.

"We are continually seeking ways to meet the needs of our customers by ensuring our employees have the best resources available," said Kyle Williams, president of Enid, Okla.-based Hammer-Williams. "Implementing the PeopleMatter Platform will catapult us a step ahead of our competitors while enabling growth and positively impacting our bottom line."

Tax credit processing is one component of HIRE that will transform Jiffy Trip/Jack's operational savings. WOTC saving can range from $1,200 to $9,000 per employee. Jiffy Trip/Jack's will potentially save around $180,000 a year if half of its 300 employees qualified for the minimum tax credit of $1,200.

"Only time will tell what the real savings end up being," said Williams. "Knowing we will reclaim tax savings unintentionally overlooked is energizing."

Other key components of HIRE and LEARN that will benefit this family-owned company include:

Online applications. Configured with pre-screening, background checks and tax credit screenings.

Integrated e-verify. I-9 verification determines worker eligibility with government-approved tools.

Automated processes. Eliminate paper forms with electronic onboarding and offboarding.

Sort dynamically. Search applicants by assessment results, role and availability.

Electronic notifications. Schedule interviews, send messages and offer jobs to candidates with a mouse click.

Business intelligence. View and compare time-to-hire, turnover and other key metrics.

Online training. Deploy training instantly using integrated industry-standard third-party courses (SCORM).

Automated testing. Monitor comprehension and progress while comparing and analyzing the results

Personalized assignments. Target training based upon individual needs and business goals.

"PeopleMatter solutions were designed specifically for companies like Jiffy Trip/Jack's," said Nate DaPore, PeopleMatter president and CEO. "We are transforming service-driven teams across the nation by managing people, processes and paperwork in one place."
