LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Kwik Trip Inc. has opted to install Emerson Climate Technologies' E2 Facility Management System in more than 50 of its convenience stores.
Kwik Trip is installing Emerson's E2 CX system to more efficiently monitor and manage energy consumption within its facilities. Already installed in more than 50 locations, the retailer plans to continue upgrading other existing stores to the E2 system as well as using the E2 in all new stores.
Part of Emerson's Intelligent Store architecture, the E2 Facility Management System [image-nocss] is a control system that manages all lighting, refrigeration, and HVAC systems, as well as controls all the anti-condensate heaters in a store. Integrating all these systems in the E2 enables multiple stores to be monitored from a central location.
By collecting and analyzing data both for individual stores and for its entire network, Kwik Trip can quickly identify where improvements in equipment performance need to be made. Using this, and other Emerson technologies, the Kwik Trip location in Rochester, MN documented a 7% reduction in electrical consumption (kWh) and 7% demand reduction (kW) per year.

The E2 CX system is designed, manufactured and installed by the Retail Solutions division of Emerson Climate Technologies. The E2 Facility Management System and ProAct Service Center in Atlanta form the core of Emerson's Intelligent Store architecture. The architecture creates an integrated suite of products and services that provide retail operators a new level of sophistication and insight into their operations. When integrated or linked together, these innovative products and services can provide maintenance, energy and reliability gains. Also included in the Intelligent Store architecture are the Control Link device controllers and Intelligent Store Discus compressor, select Lennox rooftop units and other third-party devices.
