GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Meijer has announced a new summertime fuel savings program providing customers with a 10-cent-per-gallon discount on fuel at all 179 Meijer gas stations.
This new discount program became available to Meijer credit customers on June 8 and will continue through September 3.
"Meijer is always looking for ways to save our customers money," said co-chairman Hank Meijer. "Gasoline prices have a major impact on family budgets, so we are pleased to be able to offer these savings to all Meijer credit card holders in time for their summer travels."
Year round, Meijer credit-card holders receive a five-cent savings per gallon of gasoline purchased at Meijer stations. Doubling the offer will help save Meijer customers money at the pump during the busiest driving season.
The Meijer fuel savings program is very popular with customers, the company said, because it allows them to save at the pump without any required purchase inside the store or without coupons. When customers use their Meijer credit card, issued by GE Capital Retail Bank, to purchase gasoline at Meijer stations, the pump will recognize the use of the card and customers will see the 10-cent-per-gallon reduction on the pump readout.
The offer is valid at all Meijer stations and requires no minimum fuel purchase. Meijer currently carries three standard grades of gasoline, as well as diesel and kerosene and E-85 at most locations throughout Meijer's five-state region.
Meijer is a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer that operates 198 supercenters and grocery stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. As a pioneer of the "one-stop shopping" concept, Meijer stores have evolved through the years to include expanded fresh produce and meat departments, as well as pharmacies, comprehensive electronics departments, garden centers, apparel offerings and gasoline.
