National Retail Solutions Teams Up With Core-Mark

POS network provider joins Core Partners program to help independent retailers

NEWARK, N.J., and WESTLAKE, Texas — National Retail Solutions (NRS) has partnered with Core-Mark International through its Core Partners program, which is designed to help independent operators increase sales and profitability.

Core Partners provides Core-Mark customers with connections to key business and service partners. It offers a suite of value-added resources for the independent operator.

With this relationship, NRS will offer a point-of-sale systems to its more than 40,000 customers. The NRS system aligns well with Core-Mark’s Independent Retail Operators’ business and needs, the companies said.

The NRS POS platform is integrated with a loyalty program and digital advertising screens as well as supports tobacco scan program participation and Retail Access Control Standards (RACS) compliance. In June, NRS launched its BR Club Shopping App, which allows remote purchasing and advanced payment and enables independent retailers to offer online ordering for pickup or delivery. Customers can pay for orders in the app using a credit or debit card or pay at the store using cash or another payment method. Customers use the app for free. NRS is planning its release of Fuel Pump Control Integration later this year.

NRS operates a POS terminal-based platform for independent retailers nationwide including convenience stores and bodegas. The NRS POS platform provides a portfolio of tools to help independent retailers compete more effectively, including loyalty programs, consumer coupons, wholesaler discounts and integration with Boss Revolution voice and payment services. Consumer packaged goods (CPG) suppliers access the NRS platform to offer promotions, coupons and special offers through NRS merchants and it provides CPG suppliers with insights and actionable data to help drive their understanding of independent retailers.

Newark, N.J.-based NRS, a subsidiary of IDT Corp., is a POS provider for independently owned convenience stores, bodegas, liquor stores and tobacco stores, with more than 8,500 stores nationwide using the system for more than 35 million transactions per month across the network.

Core-Mark is one of the largest marketers of fresh, food and broad-line supply solutions to the convenience retail industry in North America. Founded in 1888, the Westlake, Texas-based company offers a full range of products, marketing programs and technology solutions to approximately 44,000 customer locations in the United States and Canada through 32 distribution centers.
