NOCO Express Taps Paytronix for Loyalty Relaunch

New program predicts and encourages repeat visits

TONAWANDA, N.Y. -- NOCO has launched a Patronix-powered loyalty program for its NOCO Express convenience stores.

The new NOCO Friends & Family loyalty program allows members to earn instant savings and rewards, plus free in-store items, discounts on monthly specials and birthday rewards. Members also save 3 cents per gallon on gas, which doubles to 6 cents if the member is signed up for NOCO EZPay. Also, every time members identify themselves at the pump or in the store, they receive an entry into that month’s sweepstakes. Sweepstakes entries are multiplied as the number of visits in the month increase.

Members who come in frequently get triple entries with each ID, while members who come in less frequently get a single entry with each swipe of their membership card or telephone number identification. The system also predicts future member visit behavior and automatically deploys messages designed to keep members on their normal visit pattern or challenges them to visit more often.

“The new NOCO Friends & Family program gives us a simpler and more effective way to connect with members, engaging them with special offers that get them into the store. It also allows us to thank our customers for their loyalty,” said Jim DeFilippis, vice president and general manager for NOCO Express. “We didn’t want an ordinary plug-and-play loyalty program like everyone else. We wanted a program that is better than our competitors’ and unique enough that they wouldn’t want to copy it. Paytronix created a real opportunity for us.”

NOCO Express has offered a loyalty program for almost nine years, but decided to upgrade to a system that would make it easier for customers to join and engage with the program while giving the team data to predict visits and engage with customers through multichannel messages in an attempt to compel more visits.

Based in Newton, Mass., Paytronix provides software-as-a-service (SaaS) customer experience management solutions for c-stores and restaurants. Paytronix works with more than 330 customers to build big data consumer insights that Paytronix generates from one-to-one engagement with its more than 165 million loyalty members across its customers’ brands.

NOCO Express is based in Tonawanda, N.Y., and operates 39 convenience stores. It is No. 170 on CSP’s 2018 Top 202 ranking of c-store chains by number of company-owned retail outlets.
