DEERFIELD, Ill. — Walgreens is launching package pickup and returns for consumers. The service is rolling out at more than 8,000 Walgreens locations already offering FedEx OnSite services, which allows customers to drop off and pick up FedEx packages.

The drugstore is partnering with Narvar, which recently released Narvar Concierge, an e-commerce-focused drop-off and pickup service. Select Nordstrom locations are also launching Narvar Concierge, in addition to Urban Outfitters, Cole Haan, Levi Strauss, Timbuk2 and Arezzo.

Retailers on the Narvar platform can offer consumers the option to pick up orders or drop off packages at any location in the Narvar Concierge network. In addition to a retailer's existing options, online shoppers can select a Narvar Concierge location during checkout or when making a return, including Walgreens.

"Customers are continuing to redefine value and convenience, and this is another way in which we can provide a differentiated retail experience," said Alex Gourlay, co-chief operating officer of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. and president of Walgreens. "We're leveraging new and different platforms as well as our expansive footprint to bring more services closer to our customers while giving our partners greater reach and access in communities across the U.S."

In addition to connecting e-commerce and in-store experiences for consumers, Narvar Concierge allows retailers to unify communications about online purchases and offline returns through the platform.

"In order to compete today, retailers need to integrate themselves within the consumer's busy lifestyle, and not the other way around," said Amit Sharma, founder and CEO of Narvar. "While our brand partners have invested in excellent online experiences, uniting their e-commerce strategy with their brick-and-mortar strategy is still a challenge—this is where Narvar Concierge will make a difference. Ultimately, flexibility and memorable experiences will win the consumer's heart and mind."

San Francisco-based Narvar has partnered with more than 600 retailers globally, including Sephora, Patagonia, Levi’s, Bose, Warby Parker, Home Depot, LVMH and L’Oreal. Narvar engages with customers to improve the e-commerce experience.

Walgreens Boots Alliance has more than 13,200 stores in 11 countries. The company's portfolio of retail and business brands includes Walgreens, Duane Reade, Boots and Alliance Healthcare, as well as health and beauty product brands such as No7, Botanics, Liz Earle and Soap & Glory. Walgreens is based in Deerfield, Ill.
