ATLANTA -- RaceTrac Petroleum has launched SupplyChainMetrix (SMX), a cloud-based supply-chain management tool from ComplianceMetrix.

RaceTrac will use SMX to monitor supplier compliance and ensure the quality and safety of the ready-to-eat and private-label food available in approximately 500 convenience stores in the southern United States.

“RaceTrac is looking forward to our partnership with ComplianceMetrix to manage regulatory and business documentation compliance within our food supply chain," said Ozzie Brooks, senior manager of food safety and regulatory compliance for RaceTrac. "We’re proud of the food we offer at our stores, and it’s important to us to partner with a trusted company like ComplianceMetrix to manage compliance through their extensive dashboards and supply-chain tracking and monitoring capabilities.”

SMX system features include:

  • Defines and manages product specifications for nonconsumables and ready-to-eat and private-label food sold in stores.
  • Automates supplier and distributor approvals, and maintains records, contacts and required documentation.
  • Align and approve suppliers to supply specific products to enable facility audits, nutritional and allergen declarations, product packaging label and graphics and sources of ingredients.
  • Automated corrective and preventable action plans for closed-loop resolution and continuous improvement.

“We are honored to work with such a respected brand that is committed to ensuring the quality and safety of their food and overall operational excellence in all aspects of their business. Our collaboration with the team at RaceTrac during the implementation process was very beneficial,” said Mitch Porche, CEO of ComplianceMetrix.

Brands such as Burger King, Taco Bell and Hasbro use La Jolla, Calif.-based ComplianceMetrix and its cloud-based software. ComplianceMetrix’s products combine supply-chain and operational management capabilities into one configurable operating platform.

Atlanta-based RaceTrac has been in business since 1934 and operates more than 500 c-store locations in Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Texas. Many RaceTrac stores feature Swirl World frozen desserts, an expanded coffee bar, seating areas and free Wi-Fi.
