Rutter's Donates $1,000 for Walk-A-Thon Against Hunger

Also awards four of eight free gas prizes
YORK, Pa. -- Rutter's Children's Charities recently donated $1,000 to Jewish Family Services of York's Walk-A-Thon Against Hunger, which took place May 3. The contribution supports Project Manna, which includes York's only kosher food pantry. The money will be shared with the Northeast Neighborhood Food Bank.

Meanwhile, Rutter's Farm Stores recently named Deb Rohrbaugh of Dallastown, Pa., and Schirl Warner of Windsor, Pa., as the third and fourth winners, respectively, of the chain's summer gasoline giveaway. Along with the first two winnersLowell Sipe of Red Lion, Pa., [image-nocss] and Brandi Cook of Fayetteville, Pa.they each will receive free gasoline for one year in Rutter's "Fuel Up Free!" promotion.

A total of eight customers will receive free gasoline for one year as part of the contest, which began May 25 and runs through August 30. A ninth customer will win a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle, courtesy of Rutter's and hot dog maker Kunzler & Co.

Each of the winners will be chosen through a random drawing. Rutter's offers monthly food and beverage specials. With each purchase of a special, a customer receives an entry blank. The more specials that customers purchase, the more chances they have to win.

Participating sponsors are Pepsi Cola, Coca-Cola, Cadbury Canada Dry, Function Beverage, Snapple, Red Bull, Edy's Grand Ice Cream, Jack and Jill Ice Cream, Pennsylvania Lottery, Kunzler & Co., S&D Coffee and Rutter's Dairy.

Family-owned and third-generation managed, York, Pa.-based Rutter's operates 56 convenience stores in York, Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania. Rutter's Children's Charities is the charitable arm of the family-owned Rutter's companies, which comprise Rutter's Farm Stores, Rutter's Dairy and M&G Realty, a real estate development company.
