Gulf launches baseball promotion; Rutter's giving away more free gas

NEWTON, Mass. -- Gulf Oil LP has announced a prize program in conjunction with Major League Baseball to give Gulf customers a chance to win Red Sox "Green Monster" tickets, Mets Dream Seats andfor the first timePhiladelphia Phillies Luxury Suite tickets to pre-selected games this season.

Red Sox Nation, Mets Fans and Phillies Fans who fill up twice with Gulf gasoline until June 29, 2007 can qualify and can enter the contest online at www.gulfoil.com.

"Gulf Oil is very proud of its long standing relationship with the Major League Baseball, and this contest allows us to thank our customers for their continued support," said Joseph Petrowski, Gulf Oil's president and CEO. "We know that people have many choices when buying gas. This program is a way to thank people for choosing and supporting Gulf here in the Northeast."

The games will take place in July, August or September. The Red Sox seats consist of seats on top of the famous Fenway Green Monster wall, arguably one of the greatest icons in MLB baseball. The Mets Dream Seats were created to give the fans the ultimate spectator experience at the ballpark. These custom-designed leather reclining seats are in VIP areas providing fans all the comforts of their own living room with the excitement and feel of being right in the stadium. The Philadelphia Phillies Luxury Suite tickets at Citizens Bank Park are located directly above the Field Level.

Gulf Oil, based in Newton, Mass., is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products. It distributes motor fuels through a network of more than 2,400 branded gas stations, 12 proprietary oil terminals and a network of more than 50 other supply terminals. And it supplies heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene to these branded retail outlets through both its Gulf brand and, in the seven states of New England and New York, the Exxon brand. Through its unbranded subsidiary, Great Island Energy, Gulf Oil LP also supplies petroleum products as well as risk management and financial services to industrial, commercial, and independent retail firms. Gulf Oil through its ownership interest in World Energy is also the nation's largest distributor of bio-diesel.

In other gasoline promotion news, York, Pa.-based Rutter's Farm Stores has revived its Fuel Up Free! gasoline giveaway through August 26. Four customers will win free gasoline for three years, compared with three grand-prize winners in 2006.

We had an incredible response to Fuel Up Free!' in 2006, said Scott Hartman, president of Rutter's Farm Stores. With driving season upon us, and with gas prices reaching new highs, we're excited to be giving away 33% more gas than we did last year.

During the giveaway, Rutter's will offer weekly food or beverage specials.

New for 2007, customers also can obtain an entry blank by showing an M&T Bank ATM receipt to a Rutter's clerk. Rutter's offers no-surcharge M&T ATMs in each of its stores.

The grand-prize drawings will be held June 27, July 25, August 15 and September 11.

Rutter's operates 50 convenience stores in York, Adams, Franklin and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania.
