TravelCenters of America is installing ordering kiosks at Popeyes quick-service restaurants (QSRs) that are located at its travel centers.
TA has already installed 13 pole-mounted units and 32 countertop units and aims to operate a total of 66 kiosks by the end of the year, according to the Chicago-based, bp-owned convenience retailer.
The tech integration is in partnership with Los Angeles-based Tillster, a digital commerce platform for QSRs.
- bp America Inc. is No. 5 on CSP’s 2025 Top 202 ranking of U.S. convenience-store chains by store count.
The kiosks integrate with TA's existing technology, including order-ahead options and loyalty rewards.
The initial deployment of kiosks has resulted in 70% boost in usage rate, reflecting the percentage of customers who choose to use the kiosks rather than ordering at the counter with a cashier, according to TA.
Higher countertop kiosk usage rates allows TA to redistribute labor to other positions within our restaurants, the company said.
The average check for countertop kiosks is also higher, indicating that customers are adding more items to their orders.
Designed to be user-friendly and accessible, the technology operates in different languages, TA said.
bp acquired TravelCenters of America in May 2023, adding a network of about 280 travel centers and an additional 20,000 staff members. Its c-store brands also include Thorntons and ampm.
