Valero Collects for Medical Care

Fund raiser to help Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

SAN ANTONIO -- From Sept. 6 through Oct. 3, Valero Corner Store employees will be asking customers to purchase $1 or $5 Miracle Balloon icons to raise funds for 32 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

The icons have a coupon attached, providing customers an extra incentive to make the $1 or $5 purchase. In addition to the Miracle Balloons, customers will have an opportunity to purchase a “Glow for Kids” glow in the dark bracelet for $1. In 2010, Valero Corner Stores raised more than $1.8 million in 988 locations.

Like all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fund raisers, the money collected from Valero Corner Stores’ four-week campaign will help create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.

San Antonio-based Valero Corner Stores has been a partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 1995, raising funds for children’s hospitals through multiple fundraising campaigns totaling more than $12.5 million.
