Walmart to Go Using Movista's Fast to Go App

Concept convenience store using mobile food-ordering technology

BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- The Fast to Go application developed for Wal-Mart by technology firm Movista LLC is a free application that allows users to pre-order deli foods from the new Wal-Mart to Go concept convenience store in Bentonville, Ark. The firm released the app last week to both The App Store and Google Play.

"It's super simple to use and eliminates line time for customers," said Movista co-founder April Seggebruch.

Wal-Mart to Go, which opened on March 19, is the retail giants first true gas station and convenience store. It is located less than a mile from the retailer's Bentonville headquarters. Inside the approximately 5,000-square-foot c-store, customers can experience an automated milkshake machine, order and eat made to order meals through a Bentonville Butcher & Deli counter located inside.

Customers have the option of ordering food directly from the in-store deli or they can use the Fast to Go application to pre-order one or more meals, customize their orders and schedule an in-store pick-up time.

Since Movista was originally founded to provide retailers, manufacturers and brokers with internal mobile solutions, Fast to Go is its first consumer-facing app, it said.

"Our flagship product, called MVretail, allows companies to manage remote employees and locations. It's everything from file sharing to GPS-tracking but it is certainly not a fast path to barbecue brisket," said Seggebruch. "Serving our clients' customers is a natural extension of our capabilities but we do not plan on making consumer facing apps our focus at this time."

Movista is a private company based in Bentonville. The company was founded in 2010 and specializes in developing smart device based management tools. Clients include Wal-Mart, Meijer, Serv-U-Success, Ghirardelli Chocolates, Lindt Chocolates, Tempur-Pedic and TracPhone.
