Wawa Inc. has launched online ordering capabilities through its app. Customers can order items such as coffee, dispensed beverages, breakfast, lunch, dinner, fresh baked goods, fresh snacks, snacks, packaged beverages, ice, grocery, health and beauty products.

In the Wawa app, customers can select a store for pickup, browse the menu and customize orders. There is also a reorder feature, making for a faster check-out.

To pay, the Wawa app offers mobile payments with Wawa gift cards, but customers can also pay in the store when picking it up—the cashier will scan the virtual order slip in the app and take cash, credit, debit or gift card payments.

To ensure that orders are fresh, Wawa will start preparing it when the customer gets close to the store, according to the chain. This is why the app requires users’ location services set to Always. When close to the store, Wawa notifies the customer that they have started to prepare the order.

The app also gives customers the ability to save up to 10 favorite items.

Customers can earn rewards on mobile order purchases of eligible items when payments are made in the app or by scanning a rewards card or registered Wawa gift card at the in-store checkout.

Wawa also offers curbside pickup and delivery.

Wawa, Pennsylvania-based Wawa has more than 950 c-stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, D.C.
