Wild Bill’s Tobacco, Troy, Michigan, is partnering with Bitcoin Depot to install Bitcoin teller machines (BTMs) in 10 of its stores as part of a new pilot program.
The Atlanta-based Bitcoin kiosk operator and fintech company said the rollout could expand to more than 250 Wild Bill’s locations if the pilot proves successful.
“Wild Bill’s has always focused on providing customers with new, value-added services,” said Justin Samona, vice president of business development for Wild Bill’s, which operates stores in Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Missouri and Indiana. “Partnering with Bitcoin Depot now brings a trusted crypto solution into our stores.”
Samona said the pilot will help the retailer’s teams to fine-tune the rollout strategy and deliver the best customer experience.
Scott Buchanan, president and COO of Bitcoin Depot, said the partnership will make cryptocurrency more accessible to consumers.
“By partnering with trusted, high-traffic retailers like Wild Bill’s, we meet customers where they already shop and ensure they can buy Bitcoin safely and easily while running everyday errands,” he said.
Bitcoin Depot Inc. was founded in 2016 with the mission to connect those who prefer to use cash to the broader, digital financial system. Its products and services provide a process for converting cash into Bitcoin.
