Jiffy Trip, Enid, Okla., which will open its 29th store in September, has ordering kiosks at its new JT’s Made-to-Order restaurant concept, which offers customized food and espresso-based beverages. Mobile ordering, to debut in fourth-quarter 2019, will include made-to-order coffee drinks, milkshakes and dispensed beverages, along with the retailer’s burger and sandwich foodservice offer. Jiffy Trip has also been experimenting with drive-thrus, which seem to pair well with beverages.

Jiffy Trip has added a door near the drive-thru where employees can step out and deliver fountain drinks so these customers do not have to wait in line. “Speed is the most important thing,” says Alex Williams, chief operating officer.

Alltown Fresh is addressing customers’ sustainability concerns by offering a reusable mug for coffee and a discount for using the cup. “Our traditional cups are recyclable, and our straws are made from 100% corn material and are compostable,” Seidenberg says. “We’ve completely moved away from paper straws.”
