Electronic nicotine delivery systems, or ENDS, include e-cigarettes, vape pens, e-hookahs, e-cigars, personal vaporizers and electronic pipes. Retailers must also adhere to regulations surrounding these products:

—Retailers must check a photo ID of everyone under age 27 who attempts to purchase e-cigarettes or other ENDS.
—Retailers can sell e-cigarettes and other ENDS only to customers of legal buying age, depending on the legal-age law in that city.
—Retailers cannot sell e-cigarettes or other ENDS in a vending machine unless in an adults-only facility.
— Retailers cannot give away free samples of ENDS to consumers, including any of their components or parts.

And, like all other covered tobacco products, ENDS will fall under additional regulations come Aug. 10, 2018:

—Retailers cannot sell or distribute ENDS without a health warning statement on the package.
—Retailers cannot display advertisements for ENDS without a health warning statement.
