FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-- Two cigars distributed through Altadis U.S.A. were honored by the Robb Report this summer.
In its August issue, the Robb Report featured the A. Turrent cigar as its Select Smoke and one of its Recommended additions to your humidor. Using words like refined and surprisingly smooth, the publication described the A. Turrent as wonderfully reminiscent of the simple, well-balanced cigars we used to sneak out of Father's humidor.
The A. Turrent is the creation of Alberto Turrent and his son Alejandro, [image-nocss] fourth and fifth generations of the cigar industry's oldest family and Mexico's largest tobacco growers and makers of premium cigars. Tobacco grown by the Turrent family is found in some of the world's most highly coveted brands.
The A. Turrent was launched in the United States last year.
In its June Best of the Best issue, in a feature about the finest cigars, Robb Report selected the Jose Seijas Signature Series 2000 cigar as one of its Best of the Best.
Often referred to as The Cigar Maker's Cigar Maker, Seijas is vice president and general manager of Tabacalera de Garcia, located in La Romana, Dominican Republic. He is responsible for creating many of Altadis U.S.A.'s brands, including Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann, Trinidad and others.
For the cigar that bears his name, Seijas selects the best of the company's countless varieties and vintages of tobacco, then allows them extra time to age and develop their full flavors, according to Robb Report. The publication went on to describe the Seijas Signature cigar as beautifully constructed, exotic, creamy and silky.
Featuring an aged Ecuadorian wrapper, Dominican binder and Peruvian, Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers, the Seijas Signature cigar is available in limited distribution.Members help make our journalism possible.
