Altria Group, Inc. said it is expanding distribution of its On Plus nicotine pouches to retailers nationwide.
The Richmond, Virginia-based company said wholesale shipments began March 16, with products beginning to reach stores across the country Monday. The pouches had previously been sold online and in limited regional markets, including North Carolina, Florida and Texas.
On Plus is manufactured by Helix Innovations LLC, a subsidiary of Altria.
“The national expansion of On Plus is an exciting milestone for Helix,” said Nick MacPhee, managing director of Helix.
As adult consumers continue to seek smoke‑free alternatives, MacPhee said On Plus reflects “our focus on quality, innovation, and responsibly meeting demand within science‑based regulatory frameworks.”
The Food and Drug Administration in December issued marketing granted orders to six On Plus nicotine pouch products. They are the first authorizations under a pilot program launched in September to streamline the agency’s review process while maintaining its scientific standards, the FDA said.
The products are available in two nicotine strengths—6 milligrams and 9 milligrams. Flavors include On Plus Mint, On Plus Wintergreen and On Plus Tobacco.
