Altria Hosts Women’s Leadership Summit at University of Missouri

Navigating the evolving landscape of leadership in today’s business climate was the topic of discussion Feb. 28 at the annual 2025 Women’s Leadership Summit hosted by Richmond, Virginia-based tobacco company Altria and its Altria Women Leaders and the Trulaske Business School’s Career Services Department at the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri.

The summit, Navigating the New Normal, addressed the challenges and opportunities faced by Gen Z women in the business environment shaped by new digital technologies, changing working methods and different ways to navigating careers.

A series of breakout sessions and panel discussions covered key topics, including identifying the strengths of Gen Z, leading with digital and technology and leveraging different work methods. Participants engaged in interactive discussions and exercises to better understand how these strengths can be harnessed in the workplace today.

The panel discussion on leading with digital and technology was moderated by Andi Bowman, sales manager at Altria, and featured panelists included Margaret Ogren, senior business director at Patron Points, Christine Loukota, director of emerging technologies at Alimentation Couche-Tard/Circle K, Dayle Stewart, director of sales at St. Joe Distributing, Taylor Bromley, senior manager third party implementation at Altria and Bridget Werderman, manager external APIs, trade and program enablement at Altria. 

During the discussion, panelists shared their insights on how they leverage technology in their roles, the importance of staying updated with new tech trends, and how Gen Z's digital strengths are transforming the workplace. 

Nikki Brown, manager of digital trade programs at Altria, a session on leveraging different work methods, exploring traditional, work-from-home and hybrid models. Participants discussed the pros and cons of each arrangement and shared personal experiences on how to navigate these work environments effectively. The session highlighted the importance of finding the right work method that aligns with individual preferences and career goals.

Kelly Haseotes, director of accounts sales for Altria, delivered the keynote address on navigating career opportunities. Haseotes shared insights on career development, mentorship, and the importance of building a strong professional network. 

The event concluded with an optional networking lunch, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and peers.
