CHS launches purchasing program through Consolidated Buying Co.

ST. PAUL, Minn. --CHS has signed a three-year agreement with Consolidated Buying Co. (CBC) to launch the C-Buying for Cenex program developed exclusively for CHS and its network of more than 800 Cenex-branded marketers.

The C-Buying for Cenex program allows Cenex marketers to tap into more than 300 national product agreements CBC has established, including cigarette/tobacco, beverage, confectionary, grocery and snack programs, as well as other more diverse programs, such as bay services, car wash, insurance, transportation, equipment purchases and business [image-nocss] services.

We offer a wealth of industry experts and innovative programs to help retailers reach their store's full potential, said Gary Braaten, CHS retail consultant supervisor. The C-Buying for Cenex program is flexible, easy-to-use and offers significant savings to help increase profitability of our Cenex-branded marketers.

Braaten said representatives from CBC will be contacting Cenex marketers to review the program, answer any questions they may have and assist them with registration.

Jon Lanphier, president of CBC, said, Aligning with CHS and its network of Cenex-branded retailers is a winning combination for CBC and our supplier partners. This relationship enhances our growth strategy by providing access to the substantial network of Cenex locations.

Member-owned Cenex meets the energy needs of homeowners, businesses and communities through more than 1,600 local cooperatives, independent retailers and Cenex-identified convenience stores from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Northwest and from the Canadian border to Texas. Its products include refined fuels, propane, lubricants and related equipment.

CBC, a major buying service company for petroleum marketers in the United States, has more than 9,000 participating locations in 50 states. All Cenex-branded marketers will be encouraged to evaluate the program and take advantage of a variety of product discounts and rebates.
