Reynolds American Inc., a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT), is expanding its Clarksville, Tennessee, plant to keep up with demand for smokeless tobacco products

The company plans to hire more than 50 employees for manufacturing roles at the plant operated by American Snuff Co., which is the nation’s second-largest manufacturer of smokeless tobacco products. Its leading brands are Grizzly and Kodiak, Reynolds American said.

Roles will be posted and filled throughout 2026 and will include machine operator and maintenance technician positions.

“For more than a century, American Snuff Co. has grown alongside this community, evolving its operations while maintaining a strong local presence,” said Adriano Rusak, vice president of manufacturing at American Snuff Co. “This hiring announcement underscores our commitment to creating local opportunities and preparing our employees and our facility for the future.”

The hires are part of a broader plan announced by Reynolds American to invest $3.2 billion across its U.S. operations by 2030. Since 2024, the company has added 1,000 jobs and expects to create another 1,000 direct and indirect positions across its facilities and supply network.

As the Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based company widens its smokeless portfolio, the company announced in March of 2025 that it was adding 300 more jobs at its operations center in Tobaccoville, North Carolina,  to accommodate the company’s brand of smokeless nicotine pouches, Velo Plus
