Reynolds American Inc., a subsidiary of British American Tobacco (BAT), will be piloting its Vuse One disposable vapor product in South Carolina, Florida and Georgia starting in the fourth quarter of 2025, a Reynolds spokesperson told CSP on Friday.
The addition to the Vuse portfolio features a “greater flavor variety and convenience of a disposable product, [and] will play a significant role in addressing the diverse and evolving preferences of adult tobacco and nicotine consumers and advance the company’s vision to build a smokeless world and drive progress towards tobacco harm reduction,” a spokesperson said.
Vuse One will be marketed and sold to adult tobacco and nicotine consumers, in full compliance with the organization’s responsible marketing practices, the spokesperson said.
“Our products are responsibly marketed to adult tobacco and nicotine consumers through tailored advertisements that only use models who are aged 35 and older,” a spokesperson said. “Reynolds American Inc. and its operating companies use multiple third-party data sources and technologies in our effort to prevent underage access to tobacco, vapor and nicotine products and ensure our marketing programs are oriented towards adult tobacco and nicotine consumers only.”
To date, the Food and Drug Administration has authorized 39 e-cigarette products. These are the only e-cigarette products that currently may be legally marketed and sold in the United States. The FDA issued marketing granted orders for seven e-cigarette products from R.J. Reynolds Vapor Co. They are the Vuse Alto Power Unit and six Vuse Alto tobacco-flavored pods, which are sealed, pre-filled and non-refillable.
Vuse One uses laboratory-produced synthetic nicotine and has a premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) pending with the FDA, according to a report by Reuters.
CSP reached out to the FDA for comment but did not receive a reply by press time.
