Reynolds Subsidiary Announces Team Realignment

Veterans retire, senior leaders change roles at RAI TMS

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. Senior leadership at RAI Trade Marketing Services Co., which supports major tobacco manufacturer Reynolds American Inc., has made several high-level changes, announcing the retirement of four industry veterans and new roles for five current executives.

Among those retiring in the coming months are Mike McHugh, area vice president of the Northeast sales area; Scott Steen, vice president of strategic accounts; Colin Uffindell, vice president of trade marketing development; and Dave Riser, vice president of trade marketing for external relations.

“In total, these four individuals represent over 138 years of combined experiences with this great company, and they will be missed,” said Mike Auger, president of Winston-Salem, N.C.-based RAI Trade Marketing Services (TMS). “The positive impact that these four outstanding leaders have had on our business, our brands and our customers over the years is nothing short of amazing, while their impact on me personally and the employees of RAI TMS has been even more profound.”

Auger also announced the shifting of roles for other RAI executives effective June 1.

Chris Gaskin, currently area vice president for the Midwest, was appointed vice president of strategic accounts; Rachel Backfisch, currently senior director of the St. Louis region for RAI TMS, was promoted to area vice president of the Northeast sales area; Brad Ayer, currently senior director of retail, trade marketing development for RAI TMS, was promoted to area vice president of the Midwest sales area; Mike Wilson, currently senior director of the Charlotte (N.C.) region for RAI TMS, was promoted to vice president of trade marketing development; and Matt Domingo, currently senior director of consumer marketing, will join the RAI TMS Trade Marketing Leadership Team as senior director of external relations.

“These outstanding individuals have consistently demonstrated sound leadership and a strong desire to coach and develop their people, which is a top priority at RAI TMS,” Auger said. “They have all served in various leadership roles within our organization and have proven their capabilities across multiple functions throughout their careers.”
