RJR Opts for CAS

Tobacco company targets demand-side-management solutions

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- CAS, a global provider of demand-side-management solutions for the consumer-products industry, announced that R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. has selected CPWerx to provide an integrated solution for its customer-facing (sales and marketing) activities.

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based R.J. Reynolds' goal was to select a business-solution provider to deliver a fully integrated demand-side-management solution and help the company achieve its long-term growth objectives. The solution needed to encompass consumer and trade marketing, category [image-nocss] management, contract management and field trade marketing management.

Key reasons we selected CAS included their solution's functional fit to our specific needs, their partnership approach and commitment to our success, their ability to integrate within our existing technology infrastructure, and their longer term vision and strategic roadmap to address our needs, said Don Lamonds, executive vice president and chief information officer of R.J. Reynolds.

R.J. Reynolds has demonstrated strong operational and marketplace strength, making our selection as their demand-side-management vendor a key win, said Jon Van Duyne, CEO of CAS Americas. CAS takes great pride in working with industry leaders, and we expect to provide R.J. Reynolds with a competitive advantage by being able to increase trade-marketing operational efficiency and enhance employees' focus on the consumer.
