GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- MMS Distribution, known for supplying tobacco accessories, e-cigarettes, vaping supplies and now cannabidiol (CBD) products to convenience stores and tobacco shops, has hired Michael Berro as its new COO.

Berro, formerly with c-store distributor Harold Levinson Associates, Farmingdale, N.Y., will bring his supply-chain expertise to help MMS grow its business in prerolled products, vape devices, snacks, tinctures, creams and pet items. Garden City, N.Y.-based MMS said Berro will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization.

A student of the New York University Stern School of Business, Berro focused on management and marketing. Upon graduation, he joined Harold Levinson as its director of special projects. He split his time between sales, purchasing and marketing and rose to the position of vice president of corporate development.

Berro founded and ran Logic Distribution as a subsidiary of Harold Levinson, which handled logistics for the e-cigarette company, Logic Technology.

Personally, Berro has a connection to CBD products, having sustained two herniated-disc injuries in an accident years ago. CBD products help him cope with those injuries and will inspire him in his efforts to grow the category for MMS, the company said.
