Grocer Albertsons Cos. owns and operates 406 fuel centers, many including convenience stores (larger than 1,000 square feet) in 20 states.
The retailer added five new c-stores last year, with all of them over 3,000 square feet.
The fuel centers operate under several retail brands, including Safeway Fuel, Safeway Express, Albertsons Express, Vons Express and United Express. Its latest fuel center opened in February 2025.
