Weigel's Stores Inc.

Powell, Tennessee-based Weigel's had 83 stores at the beginning of the year, with its newer stores featuring the Weigel's Kitchen foodservice concept. The food option offers pizza, panini sandwiches, Mexican specialties and snacks, as well as specialty coffees. The stores also have food-ordering kiosks.

Since the beginning of the year, the chain opened an additional store.

On the promotional front, the company used college athletes for social media messaging about in-store offers. The chain updated its loyalty program and app in late 2022, developing enhanced rewards, exclusive discounts and cents-per-gallon deals. It maintains its legacy clubs, offering free milk, pizza and doughnuts with purchase, as well as Weigel's Wednesday, in which the chain offers a free item every Wednesday to all registered myWeigel's users.

What began as a family business selling raw milk in 1931 now includes c-stores, a dairy barn and a bakery all within a 110-mile area of its headquarters. All stores are owner-operated.
