Englefield Inc. operates 116 Duchess Convenience Stores in Ohio and Virginia, with several of the stores housing its Tic Tac Taco Mexican kitchen restaurants. Tic Tac Taco is a made-to-order Mexican kitchen offering tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, quesadillas, nachos and more. The convenience-store chain also introduced new foodservice items, including a low-carb Chorizo Eggwich, a Donut Breakfast Sandwich and Super Stuffers, which are warm biscuits filled with offerings such as sausage gravy or sausage, egg and American cheese.
The chain has made a large investment into remodeling interiors and exteriors of nearly a third of their legacy stores in 2025 to update them to its newest prototype finishes and branding. Its new prototype stores are about 5,500 square feet in size, with modern kitchens where fresh food is prepared every day, officials said.
In the past, Englefield has grown through acquisitions--but it has been a while since their last big one, which was acquiring about 40 bp locations in 2009, taking the c-store chain from about 80 to 120 stores.
Duchess also distributes high-performance bp fuels at most of its locations and provides fuel to businesses in transport quantities and on-site fleet fueling. The Crown Card Rewards program offers customers lucrative rewards for purchases in the store and at the pump. In addition to running the network of c-stores, the oil company supplies motor fuels, lubricants and other related services to wholesale and retail marketers in Ohio.
For benchmarking purposes, store counts are as of Jan. 1, 2026.
