Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Lassus Bros. celebrated 100 years of business in 2025, and it also rebranded its retail business from Lassus Handy Dandy to just Lassus. Lassus Brothers Oil started in 1925, and Lassus Handy Dandy began its c-store operations in 1980, according to the company's website.

This year, Lassus Bros. Oil Inc. reportedly wants to sell its five Ohio convenience stores, according to NRC Realty and Capital Advisors LLC, Chicago. The stores are being sold without convenience-store branding, and with or without fuel supply, NRC said. Lassus Bros. has 16 convenience stores in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and 14 others throughout the northeast corner of the state, according to its website. Once the five stores in Ohio are sold, it will have completely exited the state. CSP could not immediately reach Lassus Bros. for more information on why they are looking to leave Ohio.

For benchmarking purposes, store counts are as of Jan. 1, 2026.
